Foundation Board Chair
Bob Speer has been involved with the George Jeffrey Children's Centre (Foundation) as a Trustee on the Board of Directors for nearly 10 years, 7 years as the Chairman. His passionate involvement with the Centre began when he witnessed the care that his granddaughter, Samantha, received from the dedicated staff. Samantha started receiving treatment at the Centre for her Cerebral Palsy when she was just 6 months old and weighed a mere 4lbs. One of the Centre's miracle children, she has overcome substantial obstacles, and is now able to stand and walk unaided; a feat that might not have been possible without the George Jeffrey Children's Centre. Always the first in line to volunteer his services, Bob is committed to the new Centre so that children like Samantha, who are currently on the waiting list, will be able to receive the treatment that they so desperately need. A familiar face at the Centre, and a lifelong volunteer, Bob is the first to admit that he is busier now than before he retired! "I'm just doing what needs to be done for the kids", says Bob, proving to everyone that he carries the selfless spirit, and unending dedication that mark him as a truly remarkable addition to the volunteer forces of the George Jeffrey Children's Foundation.
